Using multiple instances of variables

Greetings FM Community,

i have a script that records the result of a task in a notes table and then creates a new task with the same variable ($TaskDescription) which is based on the TaskDescription field in a Tasks table. What I’m trying to do is create a maximum number of tasks to be completed for any given task description. I’m trying to do this via the If, Else If function to create follow up tasks from something like “Follow up on News Release” where the new task would be created as “Follow up on News Release 1” and if the Task Description field is “Follow up on News Release 1” the script creates a new task of “Follow up on News Release 2”

problem is that I am ending up with tasks that hit repeat the number -ie - Follow up on News Release 2 2” because I am trying to keep the variable the same while adding a number at the end. Any ideas how best to fix this so I have a sequence of three tasks created as the tasks are completed ?
