Is there a trick to having the Manage Data Base open on two file at once?
I have a lot of field definitions and relationships that I can to replicate from one file to another.
In your Startup Script (or any any for that matter), you can Open File and select a fmp12 file, you can select hidden or not.. See FileMaker Pro 16 Help
No trick, it's just not allowed.
Now, it's not supported as far as I know, and I'm sure others will chime in on potential dangers, but I have (and others) have had a copy of FMP and FMPA installed and open one file with FMP and the other with FMPA. Alternatively, you could leverage a Remote Desktop app, screen share, or a virtual machine that would enable you to review two Manage windows at once.
The less dangerous method is to screen shot one and open the other. As far as replicating tables/fields, FMPA does allow you to copy and paste into another file, but only one can be open at a time.
IF you have FileMaker Pro Advanced, you can copy/paste the tables or fields from one file to another.
THe only other option is to have files open in multiple version of FileMaker.
I did not answer your question properly and now realize what you want to do. No trick possible within one file. What techt suggests is a good idea. Also, you could duplicate the file and delete what you don't need.
