I've got Shipping::Internal and Shipping::Shipper. I have my popmenu setup with a value list based on those. When I select a shipper from the list of shippers it's InternalID shows up as an option along with the other Shippers. Any insight?
Also, if you select a shipper and then later delete that record from the table that's the source of data for your value list, the field will no longer display the name (as it's no longer available to display) and will show the actual data entered, the ID.
In the dialog where you set up this value list, there's an option to show only the second field. This will keep the ID out of the value list when it deploys.
In the Inspector's data tab, there's an option named "override data formatting with value list". If you select this option, (usually the default setting for pop up menus), the 2nd field will still display in the field after you select a value and move the cursor to a different field.
I thought it might be something to do with that but I've got it setup like that and it still is showing the InternalID but only after making a selection.
Check "override data formatting with value list" in the inspector.
This might have been my issue. We've done a lot of deleting in this database while setting it up.
Turns out it was definitely deleting but also from the value list issue I was having before there were left over entries that still had their ID listed instead of their Shipper label.
