Hi all, here FM ADV 17
can i run script until a specific line number and continue in step by step debug from here?
Thanks for help
Yes you can! If you click on the line number in your script, you'll see a blue arrow (break point) appear. Now when you run the script with debugger turned on, the debugger will stop at this point and allow you to step through line by line.
I'm guessing that they haven't changed this from what works in 16:
If you open the debugger and start the script, it halts on the first line of the script. You can then find the line where you want it to stop and click the grey margin to the left of that step to set a stop. You can then click the "continue" button and the script will run to the stop point. You can then use step into to single step from there.
I often use this when debugging long scripts where I'm confident that the first part of the script is working correctly.
Check FileMaker Pro 17 Advanced Help , what you want to do is:
click on the left of number and put a blue arrow then click on the black triangle right of edit. The script will run continuously until reaching the blue arrow marker where you can then use the down arrow to do step by step
Thanks to all Community, very useful tips.
