Yes. I think it is now an issue.
FM Cloud is part of the FM platform. Offering the entire platform to clients but not offering a test environment for developers is creating issues.
FMI continues to push FM Cloud as a deployment platform. However, there are a few issues. The documentation is not robust enough to base decisions on alone. Too many issues posted about FM Cloud on the community end with FMI staff asking people to contact directly and the issues never seem to have a known public solution. The few users who post back speak of some less than optimal experiences. I would love to be able to tell them I have tested it and the issues are rare outliers. I would love to let them know it’s great, but I can’t.
Having FDS for FMC is a well supported idea.
Clients ask and and do their own research. They see the bad reviews on the AWS marketplace and see the same lack of resolution to issues in the community. As a developer without a solid long term test environment I am not prepared to recommend FM Cloud to any clients.
Spend $900/year to have an FM Cloud license for a test environment.
Why is it such an issue to allow FDS on FM Cloud with BYOL?
