Product and version
FileMaker Pro 17.0.1 (with advanced tools turned on).
OS and version
2017 MacBook Pro 15" 3.1GHz / 16GB / 2TB.
Description & How to replicate
Large / multi-file solution. Create a DDR. Takes a while (a few minutes) - about the same time as in FMPA 16, so that bit's ok. But...
In FMPA 16 it gives a progress bar and shows how many files it still has to progress at any moment.
In FMPA 17 it gives the rainbow beach ball, and reports to the OS that it's "not responding", making it look like it's hung.
Well... just wait long enough.
And noted above, my testing shows that the time taken to create the DDR in both versions (16 and 17) is about the same, so there doesn't seem to be any issue with the DDR creation process. It's just that the feedback in the UI is... misleading, disconcerting, etc.
This seems a step backward to me. Where'd the progress window go? Please bring it back?
