How to avoid problem with date format when using dot as separator

We are using FileMaker Pro 14.0.6 with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, Spanish-Catalan version.

In Windows I have selected as short format for date: dd.MM.yyyy (for example: 21.01.2018).

Until now we had no problems. But during last weeks when we type a date in this format (dot as separator) in a date field with the keyboard or even using the mouse and the drop-down calendar, an error message appears: “El valor de este campo debe ser una fecha válida entre el año 1 y 4000 y con el formato 25/12/2013. Restablecer campo. Aceptar” (“The value of this field should be a valid date between the year 1 and 4000 and with the format 25/12/2013…”).

In fact, curiously enough dates in the records appear always (as when we had no problems) with the dot as separator (for instance, 21.05.2018), and this is the format the drop-down calendar writes in the field. But immediatly afterwards (using the drop-down calendar) or when we place the cursor in another field or try to go to another record  (when entering the date with de keyboard) the message error appears. The only way we have to enter dates is to use the keyboard and enter the slash as separator (for example 21/05/2018); then the program automatically changes the separator to a dot (for example 21.05.2018) and no more problem. However the problem is that we cannot insert dates with the drop-down calendar using the mouse, as we have done for many months or years.

Can anybody help us? Thanks in advance.
