Importing a mySQL Database into FileMaker

I see a lot of posts that talk about importing FileMaker into mySQL, but not the other way around.

There are posts that talk about establishing an ODBC connection and pulling data, which I was able to do as a test run.  However, I had to write an Execute SQL command to pull about 10 contact names. I can't imaging how arduous it would be to write code to pull every field of every table.

Certainly there is a plugin, a better way to do it, and some best practices. Does anyone have any exeprience with this to point me in the right direction?

Note: I don't have any SQL experience. YIKES!
