I introduced FileMaker Pro to our accounting office, three years ago. Mostly it has been ME as the only user. Our Accounting Manager, who was the second AP accountant when I started using FMP. He would not use it. Now the Accounting Manager has discovered how FMP will can make it easier for him. Also, the other AP accountant had used FMP in another job.
So, I need to modify things for a more engaged user base. When EXPORT scripts run, they go to one of the folders on the Network. No problem, until the Accounting Manager did an Export, which is an Excel file, but he left it open. When I went to EXPORT my selection, the script could not run.
I will be installing FMS17 in the next 30 days. Should I create a Preference Table where each user can determine his EXPORT directory? What other items might I put in a Preference Table that I am not realizing I might need?
Or should I use the USER-IDs to create a customized file-name?
