I'm trying to find if there is still available the old Tutorial 101 for FMP 16x
It was more user frienldy for beginners and it was an excelent tool, than just watching videos
Thanks in advance for your help
You might want to try the following link: FileMaker tutorials on how to make an app | FileMaker and several YouTube videos if you Google: Tutorial 101 for FMP 16
The link you send is for current version 17. I'm fully aware of its existence.
The old material was more hands on, self paced version. Excellent for trainning purposes
It was removed from the website, to give space to the new version videos
If you subscribe to FileMaker FDS, you'll have FMPA 17 (+ server) for $99.00. I am not married with FMI, but it is a good deal to learn; see FileMaker Store: FileMaker Developer Subscription
Have you gone through the FTS (Fm Training Series) 15?
Most of it would be the same.
I'd use this:
FileMaker tutorials on how to make an app | FileMaker The custom app academy. It isn't as complete (yet) as the FTS, but the FTS is now 2 versions behind. There's also the http://www.filemaker.com/learning/certification/docs/fm16_certification_study_guide_en.pdf Certification study guide. It points you to helpful articles that will help you learn FM better and get the knowledge you need for certification (when you decide to go that route).
I'd focus on these two. They are more up to date.
Read up, jbrown . OP says the newer version (17) for the App Academy is not as good the 16 version (from a new person perspective). IDK, but is there a link to the older video(s)? And the "2 versions behind" of the FTS may still prove valuable to new users as well!
In this case, it is not about me.
I'll have a training session with a group of FMPA 17 new users
FDS is a great tool anyway.
I'll be using the Fundamentals FTS 15 as a session's agenda
Both documents ( Fundamentals and Advanced) are very good reference materials
The certification study guide will be for me, this next summer
I'm sorry to trouble you guys, I should have given you the overall context first in order to avoid this little mess
Thanks again to you all,
If the group is related to any existing solution, try to include some of the How-to using their databases/data. I can explain tables/fields, import/export, etc. but when I show them in their solution(s)? lightbulbs everywhere.
