I have a file that is corrupt and my question is, is it better to import the data into a clone or export the table data to a text file first then import it into the clone.
you can use the new data migration tool too
Nearly always, you don't need to export, then import. There can be cases, however where the data itself has an issue and this can sometimes be corrected by export, then import.
What about container field data (Pictures) since Container Field data can't be exported as part of the table record?
You'd probably just import that data from the recovered copy. It's an interesting question as to whether the container data could be corrupted in such a way as to cause the database file to show corrupting type issues (such as crashing).
