I sometimes can't quit FileMaker 17.0.1 although there are no windows open. Under the Show window menu there's a '() - Reconnecting…' statement. Can't do anything then.
This happens. Did you change networks while connected?
Our Testing department has found a way to reproduce the issue. All information has been sent to Development. When more information becomes available, I will post again.
Just want to chime in that I’m having this issue also, very persistently. Issue persists with FM 17.0.3.
Issue does not seem to be related to a reconnect, for me at least.
I’ll have FileMaker 17 running with no databases open. Choose File/Quit and nothing happens. Shutdown/restart attempts in this state fail due to FileMaker not quitting. Have to force-quit FM17.
I also still routinely run FM16. It is not exhibiting the same issue.
Issue does not happen right away. If I reboot, launch FileMaker and then quit shortly after, quitting works as expected. Even if I open a database or two then quit, things are fine. But if FM 17 has been running for a significant period of time, quit is consistently not working, force-quit required. I’ll haven’t looked at console logs and the activity monitor to see if there’s something that’s interrupting the quit.
I’ve been experiencing this issue since FM17 launch.
I have attached your comments to the original report. When more information becomes available, I will post again.
in my case i cannot quit because somehow it keeps a hidden window open with window name something like “reconnecting to hosted file“ ..
