Hide Object When in 17 is activated when a formula occurs in an unrelated table

Product and version: FileMaker Pro 17.0.1

OS and version: macOS Sierra 10.12.6

Hardware: MacBook Air 2015 Processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Description:

In FileMaker 17, Hide Object When behave just like if “1” was return instead of “0” when a formula occurs in an unrelated table.

How to replicate:

Create two tables without any relationship between them (example: Customers and Contacts). On a layout based on the Customers table, create a button with Hide Object When from the other table (example:  Not isEmpty (Contacts::Name)  )

In FileMaker 16, the formula returns 0 and the button is not hidden

In FileMaker 17, the formula returns <unrelated table> and the button is hidden

Workaround:

A workaround should be to remove any Hide Object When formulas based on unrelated tables. But for us it’s a major issue as some objects of our databases have been copy/paste from one section to another and most of the time the original Hide Object When formulas are not removed.
