I am using the contacts quick start app to produce a personnel evaluation database. In the tabs section, I have a goals tab. I'd like managers to be able to enter new goals and have it default to the current year (defined in a separate years table:
Should I do this via relationships or calcuations....and if I had a specific fiscal year date where things would automatically change, should i handle this a different way than the "current" column (ie years always change on 7/1 of every year).
How would you handle this?
