Per the title, I've created 32-bit ODBC drivers, but they still don't appear in Select ODBC Data Source.
Can anyone suggest anything to try?
Do you use 32bit FileMaker?
It looks you are creating ODBC data source (ESS), it does not support Excel.
By the way, I'm running FileMaker 17 on Windows 10. I tried this on Windows 7 where it seemed to work. The main concern is the Timberline ODBC source. I can connect to Timberline ODBC in Excel and fetch data. But the FileMaker "Select ODBC Source" box is blank.
AFAIK, I only have a 32-bit Timberline ODBC Driver. I added the Excel driver to test whether it was Timberline or Filemaker that was the problem.
So you need 32bit FileMaker.
Or try using user DSN instead of system DSN.
I'm not sure what your goals are with the ODBC drivers, but if you're trying to do programmatic manipulation of your data, I would suggest you also check out FMP's included free JDBC driver. With a "pinch of Java code", the free FMP JDBC driver, you can do anything you need to do, almost, with your data.
You can also use a third-party tool like RazorSQL (razorsql.com) to interactively work with your live FMP data in a "real" SQL environment.
