Hi all, has anyone heard of being able to embed a video from an interactive container into a PDF? (using save as PDF to export). Many thanks.
I have never heard of that doing it with native FileMaker functionality, but there are several plugins where you can add more functionality
Technically the PDF standard allows it.
But normally our customers don't want that as most PDF readers don't support that.
It is not possible natively. Christian Schmitz could provide this but when I asked about this recently they were not truly interested at all in doing the work.
There has been a low interest in such a feature.
I think Jens could add such a feature, but it may be low on the priority list.
And I get more requests to cleanup PDFs and remove the videos, than to add them.
Not natively as Johan says, but this is possible now with iText - little confusing with the move to the ISO-32000-2 standards which are on the way as the older way of doing it with screen annotations is being phased out in favour of rich media annotation.
There is scope for it in some industries given that PDF works well as an archving format.
Thanks all for the comments!
