I had a server script hang and didn't notice (wasn't looking). What can I do to 'check' automated wise? Anything or should I just peek from time-to-time?
Scheduled server scripts can be managed via automated emails and time limits
PSoS sessions can be monitored in the server admin console and the FMPro session they are called from
You can also use a custom "queueing" system for server scripts if required.
Thank you. Actually I had big trouble with the stuck one as it kept the database open and I had to force quit. Command line couldn't help. Any way to force a script to kill it?
I am not certain if you are referring to PSOS script or a Scheduled Script. If later, you can setup the Timeout (maximum time allowed for a running script. See below:
If you can, use a second server to check on the first server. If the server has low resources then the servers script engine can fail and no PSOS or server scheduled script can run.
I have a file on a second FileMaker Server call a script on other servers and it will send me an email alert if it won't run.
Ah, it's a Scheduled Script.
