I am at my wits end here. I have no clue if I'm missing something and I really need help.
So I'm building this database, meant to keep record of a business's revenue from multiple departments. It's pretty simple: Name of business, month, year, category, sub-category (departments) and money.
Depending on the name of the business, the category's and sub category's number vary.
Problem is I cannot figure out a way to compare records side by side yearly.
The user will pick a business, the month, the category and maybe a sub category and see this years revenue compared to 2017, 2016 and 2015.
I tried the report system but it wont work for me. Scrolling down to find past years won't do.
I can't believe things like this are so easy using Excel pivot tables. It's like magic.
On the other hand I don't want to quit FM.
