Trying to Upload a database to the new FileMaker 2017 server from FileMaker Pro 2017, I get to the Upload screen, but the Name and Password fields are disabled:
Select the desired host then it will allow you to login to the host computer.
That's what I would expect, but I have tried selecting all 3 of the hosts shown (the 1st one is the 2017 server) but no go.
The server may be installed, but is it running? Can you connect to the FM sample db on the 17 server?
Yes, I can connect to the FMServer_Sample database on the 17 server just fine.
It seems like others have had a similar problem when no SSL certificate was installed, but I have installed the FileMaker default certificate but the connect fields are still not enabled.
When connecting to a server with no certificate, FM will show a dialog box with a message that the connection can not be verified and it prompts to connect to the server. Once connected a orange lock appears to indicate the connection is not secure and can not be verified.
The issue still appears that you are not actually connected to the server.
Change Hosts from favorite to local then select your server.
If you host is not local then you may have to add the server again to favorite and verify that FM is connecting.
File > Host > Show hosts Click the + to and new favorite.

Since FMS17, the default certificate does not do anything for client connections anymore. That's a change in behavior. So having the default cert is like have no cert whatsoever, as far as client connections are concerned.
I don't see anything under Local, and when I click the + it just adds it again to Favorites:
Is port 443 open?
open port 443 in all firewalls. May temporarily disable your firewall for testing.
Please give more information about your setup.
Is FMS at a different location or local?
What OS and OS version are using with FMS?
If your server is at a different location, I would highly recommend using a SSL certificate. I don't think it is related to your issue, but it is a wise investment to protect your data. GoDaddy Certificates are supported
Go Daddy has a free certificate with a .app domain. .APP Domain Names | Register Your .APP domain - GoDaddy
Not 100% sure if port 443 is open. It is configured to not have web access.
I believe the server is at a different location. I was just given a server name and login. But the time displayed is 1 hour earlier, so I think the server is in a different time zone.
It is running Windows Server 2012 R2.
I am waiting on a SSL certificate, so maybe that will fix the problem.
As a trouble shooting measure, try a different file that you have set a password for and the Extended Privileges "Access via FileMaker Network" and see if this works.
