I am having an issue with printing documents from FileMaker.
When printing I get the error below.
I am not sure how to resize the document.
Please help! TIA
I ended up having to move the body around some. It had nothing to do with the margin sizing.
Thank you all for your help.
Check the print set up..
In Layout mode look at the printing optinos to see that the marine have not been set to something tiny...
Go to the layout and enter layout mode.
Open print set up and make sure that the correct printer, page size and page orientation is selected.
Pull down the view menu and enable page breaks.
Now drag the borders between header and footer parts to change size until this fits your page. In Windows, you can hold down the Alt key while dragging to drag the part border past layout objects, effectively moving them out of one part and into another.
yes marine margins would also be a good thing to check. While in layout mode, you can open layout setup, click the printing tab to see if any margins have been set and you can change the top and bottom to be smaller, if needed.
I have changed the margins on the document to 0 just to be safe and still nothing.
There is no footer on the item I am printing and the header is between 1-1.5 inches in the paper. This item used to print no problem. I have another letter that used to print from FileMaker and now is not working with the same error message.
Post a screen shot of the layout in layout mode. This will help trouble shoot the issue. How many parts are on the layout and what is the exact height of the parts. Use the inspector to determine the height. Also is the page setup set to letter?
I would set margins at 0.25". Most printers can handle that. Zero margins might confuse the printer. Then do everything suggested above. You can also verify in the Preview Mode.
Don't you just LOVE autocorrection …
But seriously, in Layout Mode, turning on View > Page Margins is a helpful option when setting up a layout intended for print.
