Serious problem with IOSAppSDK 17.0.3

Question asked by driedle on Jul 25, 2018

I am having a serious problem with IOSAppSDK 17.0.1, 17.0.2, and the newly released 17.0.3

The app that I am developing crashes at launch every time at the "LaunchImage" section of the program. It does not matter if I am running a build for any simulator, or if I am running a build for an actual device.

I am able compile the app and make it run correctly in any version of SDK 17 if I enable "Background Modes" and check "Location updates".

I am selecting the following options in "Capabilities"

Data Protection - ON

iCloud - ON

     iCloud Documents - Checked

     Use default container - Selected

Background Modes - ON

    Location updates - Checked

The version of FileMaker is 17.0.2.205

The OS I am using is High Sierra, version 10.13.6

The hardware I am using is a 27" iMac, late 2013

I have been told that Apple will reject anything that has "Background Modes" turned on, and "Location updates" selected. I would assume that this is due to a privacy concern.

I have attached a version of my database so you can attempt to replicate the issue.

Many thanks!
