Hi I have accidentally set the menu layout to a custom and I want to revert it to the standard menu options and the menu bar is hidden. Script shortcuts were not working. How can i revert to the standard menu layout?
I have figured out a solution this would only work if you already had the file linked to another file as a data source and if you run a separate script to toggle hiding the menu bars. The solution:-
Open another file on FileMaker server that has the file as a data source.
Create a perform script to perform the toggle script on the file with the issue.
Then this allows access to managing menus and you can revert to the standard menu items.
Take a different file. Create a script that uses perform script to perform any script in your problem file. Enable script debugger and perform your new script. Step thru script in debugger until problem file opens. Then use debugger to open scripts workspace to add steps to show menu bar and halt. Save changes and run your new script again.
If you have FMAdvanced (or FM17) one of the options in the Tools menu is switching Menu sets—
That was my initial thought. But OP said:
and the menu bar is hidden
Oops! Missed that bit.
