Hola ladies & gentlemen,

I believe what I am trying to accomplish is fairly simple, but I'd like to see how you gurus would do it.

I am trying to import data from a CSV file (see screenshot below).  It is literally parent and child contact info and I'd also like to be able to check the email address to make sure it's legit (i.e., the domain ends in .com, .net,. gov,.edu and not anything fabricated).  So, I'm really trying to accomplish two things with this import:

1. Combine parent and child(children) rows into a single record (it does not need to be relational) while checking for duplicates and,

2. Verify that the email is legit.

Please check out the screenshot of a few rows of a spreadsheet:

  • In this example, the fields in the DB would end up being:

Cust Key

Parent's Last Name

Parent's First Name

Child_1

Child_2

Child_1 Birthdate

Child_2 Birthdate

Child_1 Age

Child_2 Age

Email Address

I am sure this is simple for you FM gurus, but I would really like some input on the scripting that you would use.

Thank you!
