Why FM don't have a script step to replicate a found set that was made by the find script step ?
There is a way to save the find and replicate it ?
How can I do that ?
Best regards André
Saving found set is "snapshot link"
You can also save a list of the records’ primary keys or just the criteria used to find them.
If you need to just temporarily preserve the found set, let us know as there are ways that can done with windows.
HI Phil and/ or Beverly,
Thanks for the replay.
I took the suggestion of Phil and create a scripts steps to save the criteria used to find the records so I can duplicate it when I need.
I used 3 global variables to keep this track of the find criteria that I need. $$day , $$year, , $$week, $$season
But if the criteria that is used in one layout don't use the four fields, the variable that storage the field is empty because the filed was empty.
Thats is ok, but when a try to replicate the find the result is empty.
see the perfom find script step below....
What I doing wrong I already understand, but I don't know how to fixed..
Many case referring undefined variable return empty value, but sometime variable name as string, this is the case. You can see it in
Records > Modify Last Find
after running your script.
I'd use Enter Find Mode then Set Field.
as suggested, script it like this:
enter find mode [ pause : off ]
set field [yourTable::fueld1; $variable1]
set field [yourTable::fueld2; $variable2]
and so forth
set error capture [on]
perform find [ ]
IF [ get last ( error ) // no records found or no criteria ]
Thanks for all. Its all working now.
I would like to really thanks to all of the people that some how help me to do this application and finished it.
I'm very happy with I create, counting that I am a mechanical engineer.....with no experience in FM.
Just for curiosity I'm posting the relational table of the app.
Till next app. or problem......
