I am using this:
(Get(CurrentDate) - Names::Birth) /365
It doesn't take into account as to whether it is before or after their birthday. I am sure the answer is easy but it just isn't coming to me now.
This is what I did from the Related Content link and it worked
Year ( Get ( CurrentDate ) ) - Year ( Birth ) - If ( Get ( CurrentDate ) < Date ( Month ( Birth ) ; Day ( Birth ) ; Year ( Get ( CurrentDate ) ) ); 1 ; 0 )
Also had to select 'Do not store calculation - recalculate as needed' in the storage options
Do a search on this forum for 'age' and you will find many different variations on getting what you seek! FileMaker math takes care of leap year/day for you, for example.
Let ( [T = Get ( currentDate ) ;
B = Names::Birth ] ;
Year ( T ) - Year ( B ) - ( month ( B ) > month ( T ) )
) // Let
is one such method. There are others.
I saw another example in "Related Content",
this compare not only month, but day. May be used on more cases.
Thanks, everyone. I will try these ideas
If you want to find on the field, making it as unstored would be not the best (slow on many records). Such case you'd need scripted set field (replace field contents) on every day (not all records). etc.
