I was reading a thread, where someone suggested the technique of utilizing the script step "open record" prior to using multiple set field steps. the post suggested that it will improve performance by orders of magnitudes. I wanted to gain a better understanding of why or how this occurs as well as when it should/nt be used. I understand the validation usage of the step, but for performance?
This is the first time of hearing such technique and I was under the impression that the record state changes automatically when a record becomes active or when the parent is active and a portal is used.
