How do you pick up auto-entered serialized number from old record and store in a new field in a new record?

Basically, I have a database that stores job tickets. Each job ticket has an auto-entered serial number that serves as the Job Ticket ID number.

When I go to duplicate a previous record into a new record, I've been manually placing the JT# into a new field called "Last Job/Pickup" but I would like to automate this field so that it pulls the JT# from the record I'm duplicating, then pastes it into the new field for me.

I'm still pretty new at this and I thought auto-enter last visited would work... but that was a dead end.

What is the easiest way to automate this?

Job Ticket Number is auto-entered serial number

WO # is manually keyed in

Last Job/Pickup # should show Job Ticket number from the record I'm duplicating.

Thanks in advance for any help.
