I have a client who would like to open their solution on the iPad home screen with a button that has their logo on it. Is there any way to do this, other than SDK?
It is possible using the AppMaker database Dropbox - App Maker.fmp12
Save the profile that the AppMaker database creates then email it to your device, then install from the email.
Note : The filename can be case sensitive.
Does that still work with the newer OS?

Yes, it still works. I modify and test when a new iOS version is released.
OK, I just wondered why the dropbox link instead of the original (from this forum)?
Thanks for checking. Searching for 'appmaker' on this forum is interesting.
FMI does not or has not maintain the AppMaker database for several years. I understand it was never FMI intentions to maintain the database but to provide a starting point. It's not a money making option for FMI. In any case I started modifying the database for my personal use and then I would see post about others having issues with the database so after I fixed any issues, I decided to posted the modified database on this forum instead of telling poster what they had to do to fix the database. I had already done the work. It's still the only way for Windows user to create an icon for iOS devices. The iosSDKapp requires a Mac. It's not as clean as iosSDKapp but it works for the most part. It's easier to use than the iosSDKapp so you can create an icon quickly. Try it out.
Thank you, S! This is wonderful! See if you can post to App Innovations. Others may have better ability to d/l from there rather than Dropbox. If you create as Document instead of Discussion or Question, you (as author) can make updates and upload a newer version as needed. This would be a great service to the community.
There are no issue downloading the database from dropbox. You don't have to have a dropbox account to download the file. I keep files on dropbox because that is my preferred method. I work from my office and home. I didn't place in App Innovations because I'm not the original developer of the app, I've just been updating it for my personal use. I may look into it, time permitting.
Is there any easy recommended way or tool to create an icon that will fit and look nice on an iPad/iPhone ?
My logo gets cropped :-(
What are you using to design your logo? Can you open it in a graphic editor/app and resize (smaller)?
