I have a database file where I have a repetition field with 10 repetitions
I wish to sum, for exemple, only the repetition #4, of of all the records.
Is it possible. If yes how.
I will apreciate all the help.
These kind of problems are not easy to solve with repetition fields. Better use a related table.
I agree. One related record takes the place of one repetition. And there's a simple option in Import Records that can be used to split up the data currently in repetitions into individual records in such a table.
But to solve the immediate problem, You'll have to extract the value from the repetition in order to sum it.
Right a script that loops through your records and uses the GetRepetition function to extract the value and sum it into a variable, which can be displayed on your layout after the script runs.
Define a calculation field such as:
GetRepetition ( 4 )
Use a summary field to sum this calculation field. Show all records to get a grand total of all records in your table.
In place of 4, you can use a global variable or global field in order to select for different repetitions to sum.
Thank you for the answer. I have to re-think all the structure
