FMS17: Are there any non-WebDirect implications to unbinding ports 80 an 443 on IIS?

We don't currently use WebDirect and I don't really perceive a scenario in which we would, however I also experienced a significant lag in connecting to the server via FMA17 on macOS 10.12.6 and the Mojave beta when ports 80 and 443 were not forwarded to the server behind the firewall.

With that in mind I would rather not leave a useless placeholder website out in the wild so I just unbound ports 80 and 443 from FMWebsite in the IIS Manager while leaving the port assigned to the web console untouched and ports 80 and 443 forwarded to the server behind the firewall where neither IIS or any other web server is listening to either.

Can anyone perceive a reason this would complicate anything other than WebDirect?

Thanks,
