Perform Script on Server: Nesting and Execution Order

Is there a good explanation somewhere about how PSOS works (strengths & weaknesses) and how best to leverage PSOS to max FM performance? My aim is to better leverage FMS's concurrent processing.

It's not clear to a newcomer about on how best to manage concurrent and sequential PSoS processes:

1. Can one have a PSOS script that includes nested (via other related scripts), PSOS sub-scripts as it were?

2. Can one have some scripts wait until completion, and others not, depending on script dependencies.

So ... within a major script, I'd like the sub server scripts to execute sequentially.

But I'd like all the major scripts, at that given level, to execute concurrently. They are independent of one another.

Also, where global variables ($$) passed on to a server side script, and when not.

Is it best to store them in a global field rather than volatile RAM for server side work?
