Can you copy two fields at the same to the clipboard? If so, how to you paste them into a new record (same fields)? Thank you in advance for any help!

I used set variable for copy and set field for paste.

Not only does that work, it's a much better choice for a script than the copy/paste steps--which I only use for moving data out of or into FileMaker to/from another application.
Note that the following steps also put the focus into the specified field and fail to work if the specified field is not present:
Script steps with "insert" as the first word in their name....
There is "Insert from Last Visited", can avoid copy/paste.

This may be useful for limited situation, manual entering (shortcut key), or user operation with scripting.
Another point to remember with the Clipboard is that is an OS level facility not specific to the current software you are using, so if you are working on, say, text editing task where you save something to the clipboard, then interrupt that to switch to FM—or any other program—and again utilise the clipboard, then return to the text editing task and paste the previously copied text, you will find you are pasting whatever you copied in FM instead of the text you expected. While this would be a not too disastrous surprise, imagine if, instead of copying the original text, you had cut it ………
