Alternative to Filemaker for simple usage and ipad and iphone

Back in time I started with Bento.  Very simple, used it to keep track of our dogs vet visits and home inventory.  Easy to use forms and some filtering.  After demise of Bento I moved to Filemaker 12.

Now I’m on Apple High Sierra and get a warning when I open Filemaker 12.  So investigated Filemaker 17.  For simple databases I created, paying for Filemaker 17 makes zero sense.

I use Filemaker Go on my ipad and iphone so I don’t have to be at my computer to look up any info.

So here I am asking for what are the best alternatives and of those alternatives what can read the Filemaker data or what kind of export can I do that the alternative can read.  Would Apples Numbers or Excel work?  HandDbase or is that too old and not kept up to date

My databases have a couple container fields, like a photo for the home inventory and PDF of the receipts for the Vet visits.
