Export Records fails if Output File Path uses global variable with repetition?

Platform: FileMaker 17 Pro and Server

Goal: use the Export Records script step to generate X number of .xlxs files, then attach them to a single email

Issue: Export Records fails if Output File Path uses a global variable with repetitions ( e.g. $$FilePath[2] )

Scenario: because the excel files are generated using multiple sub-scripts, the scripts must use global variables to define their export path, then use the variables to add those multiple attachments to a single email. Using a single global variable with repetitions would allow the use of a loop to programatically create and/or clear the variable. However, the Export Record script step fails when the Output File Path List uses a global variable with a repetition.
