Can anyone tell me, if on a Windows server where the console isn't refreshing info, i.e. the list of database, will the command line: fmsadmin restart ADMINSERVER - restart only the Admin console.
It will restart the whole Admin underpinnings (including console, admin API and admin CLI), but it will *NOT* touch any of the connected clients or schedules,... nothing to do with the database engine at all.
Make sure to quit the console in the browser before doing this.
Windecorte is correct. I have to do this all the time.
You do this restart due to FMSE hangups?
Yes - we have over a dozen servers (FMS16.0.3...) and they frequently hang like this.
Just to add to this. Some of my servers are configured at FMS minimum resources (CPU, RAM, CORES) and some servers are way beyond FM recommendations in terms of resources (CPU, RAM, CORES). It does not seem to be a function of resources. Regular rebooting of the servers seems to help (weekly) but the problem persists regardless.
