Is there a simple way to add a hyperlink (URL) to a word(s) in a filemaker field?
Probably wouldn't fit your definition of "simple" .
Details are important:
will the entire contents of the field form the link?
Or do you want something like this?
To log a complaint, click here. To start a new job application, click here.
Do you want to open a page in your web browser, show a page in the web viewer or perform a script in your FileMaker solution?
All of the above are possible, but not necessarily simple. A web viewer can be set up as an interface tool where clicking hyperlinks inside it take the user to other web pages in the web viewer or in your web browser or performs scripts in your solution.
Open URL can open a URL in your web browser.
And there are ways, with some limitations, to use OnObjectEnter along with functions that detect the cursor position and the style of text at that location to extract the styled text serving as the link and use it to do the same operations as above.
Pretty easy if you do it in a web viewer. If in FM normal Layout object, the whole object has to be selectable and do something like Open URL script.
webviewer option is probably simpler but clickable links in a text field can be done.

Thanks very much to everyone for the comments. Am surprised you can't do something as simple as [Ctrl]-k like MS Office and so many other apps.
