Populating Primary Key after the fact.

So I started by developing a simple app in FM14.  Then upgraded to FM17.  When using FM17, and creating a new table, I see that FM auto creates some fields that it thinks I should have.  One of these is PrimaryKey.  I'm fine with that.  To keep my database tables consistent, I added this field (and some others), to my other pre-FM17 tables.

What I can't seem to figure out, is how to populate the PrimaryKey field for existing records.  I've tried adding the PrimaryKey field to the required Layouts, but that created more problems.  The settings for the PrimaryKey field are exactly those that FM uses when auto configuring a new table.  Thoughts?
