Some of you may find the Wikipedia article on FileMaker interesting.  It is at:  FileMaker - Wikipedia

It has a nice history of the development of FileMaker from it's initial release in April 1985 by Nutshell with some ex-Wang guys while in Concord, Massachusetts.  They created FileMaker initially as an MS-DOS based program!  I find the most interesting section being the one about the different versions and what new features came out in each version!

You can find more history including a picture of the home converted to offices where FM was originally developed at 175 Sudbury Road... and it still exists today!  History of FileMaker - Dancing-Data
