I'm happy to spend 30 minutes or so going deep on the FileMaker Community roadmap.
I have an excellent suggestion, eric: "How I got SJSU to help students get FileMaker Pro" The process might be informative, might be a lively discussion on how others might do the same, might initiate some futher action by other Universities in partnership with FileMaker Inc.

Well, that is an excellent suggestion, but that presentation won't be ready by next month. We're providing help, but we only have a couple students taking advantage so far. We've got the seeds, but I think we still need some water, fertilizer, and sunshine.
Part of my strategy is to release a free killer app that gets some viral use—something that will self-propagate among students and faculty and whet their appetite to repurpose that app and build new ones. It should be versatile enough that it can used just for fun or adapted to a serious project. I'll probably have to make a how-to video so they can see how easy it was to build. That's a pretty tall order, but I have it all in my head right now with a very specific use and arena to kick it off. I even have a starting group of enthusiastic and unsuspecting students who will help me propagate the app, and they wouldn't even have to have any interest in app development itself at all—yet. I've mentioned the importance of viral tactics a few times:
Peer-to-Peer Sharing with FileMaker Go
If that succeeds, then I should have a really "lively discussion" to deliver.
I'll probably also put this killer app idea out as a question on the Community soon for other ideas and hopefully some offers.
Oh, you know I'm just trying to promote your idea. At your convenience, work up something and definitely present it to DigFM.
If I were still living in San Jose, I'd come help you!
Looking forward to the announcement of November DIGFM date, time & speaker.
I still have to work on it and proofread it, but here it is so far:
