Can I force an object to refer to its own name?

Usage:  Conditional formatting of a Button Bar, as a visual value graph

Technique:  using the object name of the entire bar as a naming tool would allow one to create long bars with calculations without having to recalculate EACH individual button, but could all calculate based solely on the object name for the entire bar (thereby making it a 'portable' tool, which could be repurposed with only one or two simple changes)..

So I'd like to be able to put a formula in the conditional formatting, forcing the bar to refer to the value of its object name, thereby referencing its needed calc fields from that info.

Is there an intelligent way to pull this off?
