Earlier this year a few of our clients were interested in scanning UHF RFID tags into a FileMaker app.
For those who don't know, UHF is the flavor of RFID used in shops to identify goods, because it's inexpensive and can be scanned from long distance and in large quantities.
Back on July 27th we released our first product supporting UHF RFID.
We call it Gonector and you can learn more about it at http://gonector.com
The first version currently supports UHF RFID through qIDmini, an Italian scanner with linear polarization, better suited for scanning individual tags.
We are now thinking of adding support for scanners from Technology Solutions, specifically TSL 1128, which uses circular polarization and is a better choice for mass tags scanning.
We initially excluded the TSL support due to its higher price and also because we did have a specific demand for qIDmini support, but we do have a plan to extend the plug-in by supporting more devices and I am now doing a research to find out what the potential demand for TSL support might be.
If you are interested or know someone who might be interested in scanning UHF RFID tags into a mobile FilemMaker app, please get in touch.
