Since 2013 the DB has been hosted on a US University server. University instructors and students travel to various Mid-East locations where they input photo, text, and limited video data via FMGo on iPads. The data is transmitted in real time via 4G hotspots from the field locations to the server in the US.
We just learned the university will no longer be hosting the DB starting Dec. 1st, 2018. The dept. will need to find a commercial host. Given the fact input happens in the US and the Mid-East I am thinking a cloud based hosting solution might provide some speed improvements as well as redundancy. Maybe, maybe not.
Looking on recommendations from those who have used commercial host. Speed, reliability (up-time), and security are major concerns.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
