Filemaker Server has issue to import excel file created via script

Hi all, I have been trying to fix this problem for a long time but without success.

I have a hosted filemaker database that needs to be updated with a new report every second day. However, the report has 60000+ entries and therefore executing the import from a filmeaker client can take up to 40 minutes, as it updates existing records and adds new ones. So I wanted to speed things up by running a server side script. Now here is my current situation:

- I import the report into a second, clean database hosted on the server from a client

- then I export that data as an .xslx file to the servers documents folder

- now I would like to perform a server side import of that file into my main database and let it run on the server , but as soon as I start the import I get the following message: "<filename> was not created by FileMaker or is severely damaged and cannot be opened"

However, I tried to rename the file and then the import works without a problem. Does anybody have a solution to this? Thank you in advance!!
