What is the Data Migration Tool objecting to?

I have a Filemaker program I bought unlocked from a small developer three years ago and have been making changes to it for three years now, never having had to enter a password. Of course, the real pain was always in importing all data into a new version, but now Filemaker has the Data Migration Tool. I just bought a Developer subscription specifically for the Data Migration Tool, but it gives an error message:

Couldn't open the source file because "(212): Invalid account/password."

(including the quote marks).

I have tried various accounts of Admin, admin, Guest, [Guest], my Macintosh account username, and passwords of Admin, admin, "", my Macintosh account password, and more.

I understand how to use Terminal and have spaces between the options and values, so I do not think that is the problem.

I appear to have full access to my file: I can open

File > Manage > Database... > Manage Security

and the only account is [Guest] [Full Access], which is checked and no options are marked.

Clicking "Use Detailed Setup", none of the tabs seem to have anything.

So what is the Data Migration Tool objecting to?

The website of the developer I bought the original program from disappeared two years ago.
