I could not transfer FileMaker Pro 14 to my new computer and made it work - I did follow the instruction given in

You don't transfer FM to new computer, just install it on the new computer just as you did on your old computer. If you purchased the digital download and didn't make a backup copy, you will have to call tech support to have them to email you the download link again. Note FMP14 has to be compatible with the version of OS on your new computer. If you have a new Apple Computer with Mojave then you will have to purchase a new compatible version of FM. FM16 and FM17 are the only two version of FM that is compatible with Mojave. There are some known issue current with FM16 and FM17 on Mojave an update for FM17 is schedule for November. FileMakerPKB
What? FM 17 is not comparable wth Mojave.
FM17 is supported with Mojave, there are known issues, and a update is scheduled this month to address the known issues. FM14 is not supported on Mojave.
since there is no infomation about platform, os.. it's hard to answer
If the OP has a new Mac and uses the 'install from an other Mac', he/she can expect to have all the stuff moved from the older machine to the new one
FileMaker 14 is not that old, so expecting that to run is somewhat reasonable
But anyway, FM14 will run under several Windows versions - but not under the latest macOS, that needs a FM16 or FM17 (that are both not fully compatible, some of the issues can be solved by resetting the dialogs from the preferences)
