I recall 25 years ago or so when FileMaker sold itself in a box with disks and a PAPER MANUAL. I used to spend 30 minutes or so a day studying page by page each function, etc. I reread the manual about 5 times. Most of the time I had no need for the particular function and sometimes had no idea what to do with it. But then came the day when I had an idea for something and the function would pop in my mind...or it wouldn’t.
Now there’s no paper manual although someone may publish a $80 book.
But comes a free IOS app: Addendum that includes 11 languages! It is in essence the help file you can read online or download but since it can be read on the iPhone or iPad you don’t need to be connected or to open a new window. If you don’t have a monster display the iPhone is quite convenient.
Kudos and many thanks to fmData for producing it.
Select your are of interest.
Tap on a function to read the information.
Sorry for the image size but IOS won’t let me adjust it.
Down load it using the IOS App Store: Addendum for FileMaker. It’s free and thanks...
Addendum is one of the finest helper apps available for filemaker developers! Not only the manual, also a translator for different languages of filemaker!
