Dynamic Server, can not connect to server.

I have files that are hosted on a new dynamic server, I hope the terminology is correct. From what I understand is that the IP address keeps on changing on these servers. So the server admin did open up all the ports for me and did the port forwarding, but still I can not connect to that server to see the hosted files. If I open up FMP and try to connect to the host it only says connection failed.


When I remote desktop to the server, I first remote desktop connect to one pc inside the organazition, and from there I again remote desktop connect to the sever. If this info helps.


Where do I start to troubleshooting and what do I need to do?
