I have a solution that crashes often and I can't find a reason. I have a crash report but I certainly do not know how to decipher it. Is there anyway of finding out what the crash report has determined to be the problem? Thanks, Jeffrey
Damaged files crash and crashing can (especially if a local file open on your computer), damage a file.
So in addition to the crash report, take the file, or a very recent back up if it's hosted on a server, and run a recover on it to check it for damage.
Thank you for your reply. I copied my file and performed the recover and initially it is working. It's frustrating not understanding what is making it crash. You have been VERY helpful. Jeffrey
Which FileMaker Version ? and which OS ?
Are you using any Plugins ?
Look thru the Recover Log for anything "Changed". It might give a clue

Thank you for your reply Greg. I am using Filemaker 17 and Mojave. There are not any plug-ins. I performed the Recover and the Recovered file worked for awhile and then started doing the same thing again. I have since done another Recover and it starting working again. I haven't done anything with it since the second recovery. I looked at both Recover logs. Both logs said there were no errors found and there were no modifications made. I guess there is a gremlin somewhere. I will probably try remaking the Tables involved. Thanks again, Jeffrey
Even though Recover says "No Problems Found", you still have to search the Log for any items "Changed"
Also, be sure to check your Hardware, e.g. by running a Disk Utility. We once suffered crashes due to a bad Motherboard
Attach the Crash Report. FileMaker does occasionally read this
