Does Filemaker does not recognize pictures now in TextEdit Document?
If I import to a container field a textedit document containing a image , in the past it was function well, but now no.
Please let me know. Thanks
In my quick test with FMPA 17 if the container is set to Images, it will not accept a TextEdit document with an image. It's rejected because the file contains attachments. If the image is removed and the file extension set to ".rft" it can be stored, but only the icon appears, in both Images content type (in the Inspector) and Interactive .PDF. Same goes for ".rtfd" file extension.
If the file with the image is exported as a PDF and the container set to Interactive, the full content shows in the container.
I believe there are several ideas around greater RTF support in FileMaker. Embedded images may just be one more need. The RTF (Rich Text Format) is a tagged-TEXT-based format and storage as TEXT may be enough. But the display (in a text field or container) would be most beneficial.
Thanks Beverly, thanks Allyn
What I do simple and quick was convert all files with extension .jpg in the finder, file > rename and ready.
Because I have a calculation field that determines the name of the picture for web purposes, I also recalculate the photo name adding
Maybe TextEdit is a deprecated technology?
I may not understand your process, but if what you need is a jpeg image file without text, then I would suggest that TextEdit (a text editor) is not the tool to use.
If managing images, I’d suggest Preview app or Photoshop or any image editor, for reliable compatibility.
The problem was solved by using jpg images, while in the past the same images keeped as texteditdocument was functioning very well while you removes the extension.
Thanks for share your knowledge
