I'm using 'Send Mail' set up with SMTP. Some of the contacts need a 'CC' email address, some don't. Where the 'CC' field is empty the email message does not send. Is there as way round this?
The question is why it does not send when CC is empty. Is it something in your script? Something about your methodology? Can't tell on the limited detail supplied so far.
If you post your script (a screenshot or PDF) the community may spot the issue, if it's in the script.
Hi. There is no script. This is just with the 'Send Mail' feature of FMP.
An empty cc should not prevent the email from sending. Are you sure that it's really empty and not a case where there's some text, possibly nonvisible text such as a space, in that cc box?
I agree with everybody above, add'l detail and a screenshot or two would be helpful. There's no reason why leaving the CC field blank would prevent an email from being sent. We send a few hundred emails daily w/o issue and the vast majority have nobody cc'd.
Apologies to all! I think #philmodjunk nailed it. I must have left a space or something in the CC field when I was testing. I have just re-run it with and without a CC email address and it's working well. I was just bashing something together for a Christmas eCard and there are many instances where we want to address the card to a couple where we have an email address for each (just so you know). I'm sending the eCards with an image attachment. Ideally what I'd like to do is have the image available to attach in a container rather than on the desktop. But that's just a refinement!
Glad you found the issue and it was easy to fix!
